Upon completing a tour with the U.S. Navy in 1970, Greg S. Ruddell, Sr. began the path to his career in telecommunications. Greg started the journey in the Cable TV Industry by joining Bratton & Associates. and began marketing New Build Cable TV Systems all across the Eastern United States. Potential Customers were presented a basic flow chart diagram displaying the system fundamentals of cable routed into the home, similar to that of a telephone line, bringing six (6) clear channels of television reception. Within 3 months of due diligence, Greg earned promotion to manager and assumed responsibility for the training and performance of 30 sales associates.
Greg successfully installed in coral rock, 4 – 4.3 meter Prodelin satellite dishes for Muzak in Miami, Florida.
In 1972, after 2 successful years with Bratton & Associates, Greg elected to further his education through the VA Bill and enrolled at Kennesaw College located just outside of Atlanta, Georgia. After leaving college, Greg promptly returned to Cable Television. He recognized an opportunity to market a more advanced cable system to the growing market in Atlanta, Marietta, and surrounding areas. In 1974, Greg founded Mr. Cable TV, a company focused on marketing New Build and Auditing Systems. This new start-up quickly established itself in the Cable TV world, gaining contracts with Cox Cable, Southern Telecom, Heritage, NuChannels, Time-Warner, and other cable systems across the Eastern United States.
The Mr. Cable T.V. days
After a long and successful run with Mr. Cable TV, Greg turned his focus from marketing and towards service and installation. In 1981 he co-founded R&B Satellite and Construction Company. R&B serviced and installed C-Band Dishes and SMA-TV Systems for both residential and commercial customers.

In 1984, Greg was given an opportunity to work as a consultant for AT&T and Southern Bell Graphics and Research Company. In preparation for AT&T’s future in the cable industry, he was tasked with producing a report outlining the MSO and cable operations throughout the U.S. The 2,000-page report also supplied AT&T with a breakdown of systems in the Southern Bell nine-state graphic tech operating area. With this information in hand, Greg decided to create a new company that would focus on cable television within this specific state range, founding Cable and Other Things Too, Inc.[C.A.O.T.T.I.] C.A.O.T.T.I. is a moniker that would stay with Greg throughout his career and continues as his flagship company to this day.

In 1985, with C.A.O.T.T.I. formed and R&B Satellite and Construction no longer in existence, Greg needed an outlet for the constantly-growing Satellite Television market. He made the decision to sell his 5,000 sq. ft. home (also the headquarters for his Rock House Antiques) and invest the capital towards establishing Rocking “R”, Inc. The company, named Rocking "R" after his father’s hog farm, opened its doors staffed with only 2 employees. Before long, with the launch of PrimeStar, Rocking "R" continued growing into one of the largest direct-broadcast Satellite Service companies in the Southeast.
By 1991, Rocking “R” sales included satellite equipment for the company Echosphere which would later become DISH Network. Through the years, Greg and Rocking "R" have worked with TCI, Cox Communications, Breslin Communications, Heritage, NuChannels, Time Warner and many other telecommunications leaders.
Connections within the Industry gave Greg the opportunity to form a business relationship with David Scott, former astronaut and developer of The Vanguard Project. The Vanguard Project was a revolutionary approach to extend the life of electronically viable, fuel-depleted satellites, parked in elliptical orbit, using a remote operated vehicle. The ROV attaches to the satellite and brings it back into geosynchronous position, maintaining alignment via a momentum wheel system, thus extending the lifespan of the satellite an additional ten years. Greg assisted with the set up of meetings to present Scott’s concept to leading companies in the satellite industry.
In 1992, Rocking “R” managed the roll-out of Primestar. Closely working with Cox Louisiana, along with other Cox systems, Rocking "R"s development of operations method – via sales, services and installations, resulted in the highest sales and lowest trouble call rate per install industry wide.
Throughout the years, Rocking “R” has been a leader in the telecommunications industry, with a keen eye towards future development and a backlog of professional experience. In 2010, Cable and Other Things Too, Inc. acquired the assets of Rocking “R” complementing the existing business structure. The acquisition brings promise of a bright future for C.A.O.T.T.I. in the Satellite and Telecommunications Industry as Full Service Providers throughout the Southeast.
Enter the moniker: C.A.O.T.T.I.
